Cranberry, Apple, and Walnut Relish

Yield: 16 servings

Serving Size:  about ¼ cup

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. package fresh cranberries
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 3 cups diced Granny Smith apples
  • ½ cup coarsely chopped walnuts
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries or dried cherries

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, cider, and cranberries in a large saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat
  2. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes or until cranberries pop and mixture thickens
  3. Remove from heat; stir in apple, walnuts and dried cranberries
  4. Spoon into a bowl; cool 
  5. Cover and chill at least 4 hours and up to 3 days ahead
  6. Store in the refrigerator
